P6 Motivation Kit- a gift from the heart.

Since last year in 2008, PSG has put together a little gift for every P6 student in EPPS. These little bags of sweetness carries with it PSG's encouragement and support for our P6 students facing Primary School Leaving Exams( PSLE).

* Each item represents the following to our students:
Milo : To give them strength, stamina and energy
Kit Kat : Give themselves a break when they are tired
Mentos Mints : To freshen up their minds
Chupa Chups : To keep them happy!
Bookmark : Specially handmade by EPPS PSG members, use it when revising with encouraging words to keep them going.

It also contains encouraging messages from the Principal, Mrs Wong as well as the PSG Chairperson, Mrs. Yvonne Chin.
Special Bookmark.
This year, each of the bookmarks that accompany the kit has been individually and specially handcrafted by PSG members. Not one single bookmark are the same. The bookmarks drawings was done by our talented Mdm Karen Ann Lesslar and reproduced. Subsequently, 270 bookmarks distributed to some 30 PSG members to handcolour it. The end result is that the bookmarks came back with spectacular colours and hues....it's heartwarming and so lovely!
Our students performed very well in their PSLE in 2008. It goes to show the dedication and commitment on both the teachers and students to do EPPS proud. PSG is happy, in part, to be able to provide further encouragement and support for our students to do even better this year.
Our dedicated parents and PSG members gathered to put this kit together.
It is our hope that with whatever effort we put in, to support our students, even in the smallest way will help make a difference.

Famous Quotes dedicated to our P6 students.

To be without dreams Is to be without hope;
To be without hope;
Is to be without purpose

Picture speaks a thousand words. This year's Teacher's Day Concert was a great success judging from the encouraging and positive feedback we get from teachers and students alike.
The theme from the movies was conceived all the way back in 2008, the PSG members got together and brainstormed on concepts right after last year's concert. Many PSG members were very enthusiastic and looking forward to the next concert. Given the talent base in the group, it wasn't too difficult to start assigning roles and responsibilities.
There were delays due to H1N1 and 3 weeks before the show, we started to get the show plans to work. It was an incredible 3 weeks to be exact with the first week down with auditions. By the 2nd and 3rd week, practises and rehearsals were a daily affair.
30 PSG members on task full force to get costumes, stage, practise, rehearsals, props, invites, etc etc ready. PSG members worked tirelessly to get everything in place and on time.
We were pleasantly surprised by the number of students coming forward to be auditioned. It was not what we expected at all. We ended up with 17 items for the show just to accomodate the number of student performers.

The students surprised us with their dedication, commitment, zeal and energy.. it was enough to keep us going. Considering that we only had 2 weeks to actual concert date, everyone was doing an excellent job and it was a lesson for one and all. The old saying, " where there's a will, there's a way" is no fallacy.
We are very proud of our team and all the student performers. They put up a stellar performance despite all the time constraints and obstacles. They worked hard to show their appreciation for their beloved teachers. The teacher and students had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the concert. It was worth all that effort.
HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!

Racial Harmony Day 2009, 21st July

PSG organised a food fair during Racial Harmony Day, it was a great success. Our PSG members prepared delicious ethnic delicacies for the children to enjoy. We set up 4 stalls featuring food of the various ethnic races- Chinese, Malay, Indian and others which includes Peranakan, Eurasian, Filipino and Western food. All proceeds $940 from the food fair sale goes to the Needy Children Fund.

The children had a good time trying out all the different dishes and we were selling out real fast! The PSG member came up a fresh new menu this year to incorporate comfort food as well as items which we used to have when we were young just to reminisce the yesteryears. New items like Ice pop, chicken pie, dodol, coconut candy, muahchee, fishballs were sold. The hot favorites like the choc cupcakes, chocolate cookies, goreng pisang, satay, porridge, curry puffs, papdom, roti prata were all selling like hot cakes!

What a day it was.. everybody had such a great time. The PSG members who had toiled to cook and prepare the food are elated to see the children enjoying their food. As for the children.. they just love to eat homecooked food served with love!
